Home Home From the Pastor's Desk A Message from Fr. Thomas Burke
A Message from Fr. Thomas Burke

A message from Fr. Thomas J. Burke:

Dear Fellow Parishioners:

This past week I spent some time relaxing with friends and family on the Atlantic Coast for my annual Summer Vacation. I love visiting state capitals and reading up on state historay and had a chance to visit Annapolis Maryland and Dover Delaware.

It is amazing how Annapolis is the oldest state capital buidling still in continious use and briefly served as the nations capital. George Washington even visited the capital buidling. In Dover, the capital building is very quaint and colonial looking. Delaware is considered the "First State."

During the next two weeks I will be busy packing boxes and bags as I prepare my move from Braddock to Sewickley. I officially begin my assignment at St. James as your pastor on Monday, August 27. I have already met several staff members and parishioners during a recent visit. Everyone I met was very friendly and welcoming.

I look forward to celebrating our parish's 150th Anniversary and our school's 100th Anniversary. Many great activities and events are planned.

As you and I together begin a new chapter I want to let you know that I am here for you. Let us walk this wonderful journey of life together.

Be sure of my thoughts and prayers daily.

With God, All Things Are Possible!
