St. James Church has beautiful stained glass windows. The large main window above the Baptismal font depicts the Transfiguration of Christ as He appeared to the three apostles on Mount Tabor: St. Peter, St. John, and our patron St. James, the Great. On each side of Jesus shows Elijah, the prophet and Moses the law giver.

This weekend we celebrate the Second Sunday of Lent which always features Abraham and Jesus’ Transfiguration. On the mountain the disciples witness the glory of Jesus' identity as the chosen son. Jesus went up the mountain to pray and was transformed. The Transfiguration is a reminder that the goal of eternal glory is worth the trials, struggles, and moments of darkness.

Lent is a time for growth for us in our relationship with Christ. During this second week of Lent let us see what positive changes we can make to become a better person.
